How it works:

3. Pumping (Manual or Powered):

4. Crimping Force: As pressure builds, the dies are forced together, deforming the lug material around the cable strands, creating a cold weld and a strong electrical and mechanical bond. 5. Pressure Release: Once the crimp is complete, a pressure release valve is opened (either manually or automatically), retracting the piston and allowing the dies to open so the crimped connection can be removed. Many modern tools have an automatic pressure release when the crimping force reaches its maximum, preventing over-crimping.
